4. Propionyl-L-Carnitine

96 men, after prostate surgery participated in a study. One group was given a placebo, another group took propionyl-L-carnitine and acetyl-L-carnitine (both 2g a day) and sildenafil (Viagra) when needed, and the final group took sildenafil (Viagra) alone.

Acetyl-L-carnitine and propionly-L-carnitine were found to improve the effectiveness of sildenafil, resulting in improved  and prolonged erectile function, orgasm and general sexual experience than with sildenafil alone.

Lowering your Cholesterol without medication.

Canada's Online Pharmacy is not only a leading online pharmacy offering you the lowest possible prices on prescription medications and non prescription drugs...we care about your whole health and wellbeing.

Here are some tips to help you maintain and or lower your cholesterol.

Cholesterol is a fat (lipid) which is produced by the liver. This lipid is crucial for normal body functioning. Cholesterol exists in the outer layer of every cell in the body and has many functions. It is a waxy steroid and is transported in the blood plasma of all animals. It is the main sterol synthesized by animals - small amounts are also synthesized in plants and fungi.

The word "cholesterol" comes from the Greek word chole, meaning "bile", and the Greek word stereos, meaning "solid, stiff".

What are the functions of cholesterol?

  • It builds and maintains cell membranes (outer layer), it prevents crystallization of hydrocarbons in the membrane.
  • It is essential for determining which molecules can pass into the cell and which cannot (cell membrane permeability).
  • It aids in the production of bile.
  • It is essential for the production of hormones released by the adrenal glands (cortisol, corticosterone, aldosterone, and others).
  • It is involved in the production of sex hormones (androgens and estrogens).
  • It converts sunshine to vitamin D.
  • It is important for the metabolism of fat soluble vitamins, including vitamins A, D, E, and K
  • It insulates nerve fibers

There are three main types of lipoproteins

Cholesterol is carried within the blood by molecules called lipoproteins. A lipoprotein is any complex or compound containing both lipid (fat) and protein. The three main types are:
  • LDL (low density lipoprotein) - people often refer to it as bad cholesterol. LDL carries cholesterol from the liver to cells. If too much is carried, too much for the cells to use, there can be a harmful buildup of LDL. This lipoprotein can increase the risk of arterial disease if levels rise too high. Most human blood contains approximately 70% LDL - this may vary, depending on the person.
  • HDL (high density lipoprotein) - people often refer to it as good cholesterol. Experts say HDL prevents arterial disease. HDL does the opposite of LDL - HDL takes the cholesterol away from the cells and back to the liver. In the liver it is either broken down or expelled from the body as waste.
  • Triglycerides - these are the chemical forms in which most fat exists in the body, as well as in food. They are present in blood plasma. Triglycerides, in association with cholesterol, form the plasma lipids (blood fat). Triglycerides in plasma originate either from fats in our food, or are made in the body from other energy sources, such as carbohydrates. Calories we consume but are not used immediately by our tissues are converted into triglycerides and stored in fat cells. When your body needs energy and there is no food as an energy source, triglycerides will be released from fat cells and used as energy - hormones control this process.

What are normal cholesterol levels?

The amount of cholesterol in human blood can vary from 3.6 mmol/liter to 7.8 mmol/liter. The National Health Service (NHS), UK, says that any reading over 6 mmol/liter is high, and will significantly raise the risk of arterial disease. The UK Department of Health recommends a target cholesterol level of under 5 mmo/liter. Unfortunately, two-thirds of all UK adults have a total cholesterol level of at least five (average men 5.5, average women 5.6).

The importance of diet.

Our bodies obtain cholesterol in two ways: making it and from food. Most of the cholesterol we eat comes from food containing animal fats, such as meat, milk, fish, butter and cheese. One of the best ways to lower your cholesterol levels is to limit the amount of fat in you diet. Whenever possible Canada's online pharmacy feels it is necessary to combine treatment, not to rely on medications alone.

The GOOD and BAD fats.
The majority of us now exactly what "fats" are bad for our cholesterol levels, but there are "good" fats our body needs to keep cholesterol levels low. Our total dietary fat intake should not exceed 25-35% of our diet. The fats that should make up this percentage should be the "good" kind such as vegetable fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats), and omega 3 fatty acids found in fish.

To lower LDL cholesterol we should avoid and reduce saturated fats found in animal products such as dairy, meat and eggs. And trans fats, which are formed when hydrogen is added to vegetable oil.
Animal fats are usually solid at room temperature, when vegetable fats are usually liquid at room temperature.

Canada's online pharmacy has many prescription drugs to help lower your cholesterol you can order with a prescription from your doctor. With regular exercise and diet low in trans and saturated fats you can lower your cholesterol without medication.

We are responsible for maintaining good health, for more tips visit www.canadasonlinepharmacy.com or call us toll free 1800.956.0256 where a trained customer service specialist will help you with your online drug orders from your Canadian online pharmacy.

Lowering Cholesterol with Crestor.

Canada's Online Pharmacy is an online pharmacy providing brand name and generic drugs at low prices. We want our customers to have all the information on the medications they purchase.

Crestor (Generic name: Rosuvastatin Calcium) is a medication used to reduce levels of “bad” cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, or LDL) and triglycerides in the blood. Also, increasing levels of "good" cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein, or HDL).  Rosuvastatin Calcium belongs to a group of medicines known as HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, or “statins”. Rosuvastatin medication is used to treat high cholesterol. Lowering your cholesterol can help prevent heart disease and hardening of the arteries, conditions that could result in heart attack, stroke, and vascular disease. Rosuvastatin is most effective when part of a complete program of treatment that includes daily exercise, diet modifications and weight management. Crestor should be taken exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Brand name or generic prescription drugs...Canada's Online Pharmacy explains...

If you have ever wondered what the difference is between generic and brand name prescription drugs, Canada's Online Pharmacy wants you to have all the information so you can save your money.

Generic drugs are copies of brand-name drugs that have exactly the same dosage, intended use, effects, route of administration, side effects, risks, safety, and strength as the original brand-name drug. Their pharmacological effects are exactly the same as those of the brand-name version.

Many people can become concerned because generic drugs are often substantially cheaper than the brand-name versions. They could wonder if the quality and effectiveness have been compromised to make the product less expensive. Food and Drug Association's worldwide requires that generic drugs be as safe and effective as brand-name drugs.

Generic drugs are less expensive because the manufacturers have not had the expenses of developing and marketing a new drug. When a company brings a new drug onto the market, the firm has already spent substantial money on research, development, marketing and promotion of the drug. A patent is granted that gives the company that developed the drug an exclusive right to sell the drug as long as the patent is in effect.

As the patent nears expiration, manufacturers can apply for permission to make and sell generic versions of the drug; and without the start up costs for development of the drug, other companies can afford to make and sell it more cheaply. When multiple companies begin producing and selling a drug, the competition among them can also drive the price down even further.

So there's no truth in the myths that generic drugs are manufactured in poorer-quality facilities or are of a lesser quality then brand-name drugs. The same standards apply for all drug manufacturing facilities, and many companies manufacture both brand-name and generic drugs. In fact, the FDA estimates that 50% of generic drug production is by brand-name companies.

Another common misbelief is that generic drugs take longer to work. Food and Drug Associations requires that generic drugs work as fast and as effectively as the original brand-name products.

Sometimes, generic versions of a drug have different colors, flavors, or combinations of inactive ingredients than the original medications. Trademark laws in the United States do not allow the generic drugs to look exactly like the brand-name preparation, but the active ingredients must be the same in both preparations, ensuring that both have the same medicinal effects.

Whether you buy generic or brand-name prescription medications we will always offer you, our valued customer the lowest possible price.

Visit www.canadasonlinepharmacy.com or call us 1800.956.0256 anytime for a comprehensive list of all prescription and non-prescription drugs, generic and brand versions and their prices!

Heartburn symptoms and natural remedies by Canada's Online Pharmacy.

Heartburn is common, a very uncomfortable burning or warmth in the chest. Although the pain of heartburn is felt in the chest, heartburn has nothing to do with the heart. Instead, heartburn is caused by stomach acid.
Continually occurring heartburn can be a symptom  of a more serious condition called gastroesophageal reflux disease. Frequent or severe heartburn may limit daily activities and lead to further complications such as ulcers in the esophagus. With proper understanding of heartburn and treatment, relief from this condition can be obtained.
About 30% of adults experience occasional heartburn, while 10% experience heartburn every day.
Some natural remedies to relieve the symptoms of heartburn are:

Garlic
From strengthening the heart to boosting the immune system. And even though many people would blame garlic-rich foods as the cause of their heartburn, a clove or two can ease the burn as quickly as it came.
Chew a clove of garlic when heartburn occurs, or store a few cloves of garlic in apple cider vinegar, and drink a sip of the liquid when heartburn occurs. This works because raw garlic is a power-packed antibiotic, and is known to kill the pathogenic microorganism that is most often found in those suffering from gastritis.
Garlic can interfere with some prescription drugs, so check with a doctor before using it.

Canada's Online Pharmacy's advise on lowering and maintaining cholestrol levels.

Canada's Online Pharmacy hopes to educate on how to maintain and lower cholestrol levels, please see www.canadasonlinepharmacy.com for further details.

There are 2 types of cholesterol:
Low density lipoproteins or LDL which is the bad cholesterol.
High density lipoproteins HDL which is the good cholesterol.

LDLs are responsible for plaque buildup in the arteries and this blocks blood flow to major organs. It is the number one cause of heart disease.

Some non-medical ways to help with cholesterol are;

1. Eat Garlic, it lowers LDL cholesterol levels by 12% and increases HDLs, you can also take a garlic supplement, follow the directions on the label.

2. Niacin is helpful in lowering cholesterol. However, inositol hexaniacinate is a better and safer form of niacin. Inositol hexaniacinate is composed of one molecule of inositol and six molecules of niacin. Inositol hexaniacinate has been used in Europe for over thirty years to lower cholesterol levels. Inositol hexaniacinate yields slightly better results than standard niacin and is better tolerated because it is flush free and doesn't have any long-term side effects on the liver or blood sugar control.

3. Chromium is very important in the synthesis of cholesterol, fats and protein. Chromium keeps blood sugar levels stable through proper insulin utilization. This can be helpful for people with hypoglycemia and diabetes. Studies have shown that low plasma chromium levels can be an indication of coronary artery disease. If you take 400 mcg. a day of chromium picolinate this will improve your HDL to LDL ratio.

4. Taking vitamin C with bioflavonoids at 4000 mg. per day will lower cholesterol.

5. Ginger reduces cholesterol and thins the blood which can improve circulation

6. Guggul reduces LDL by 35% increases HDL by 20 % in 12 weeks, prevents arteriosclerosis. It performs better then many drugs in several studies.

Canada's Online Pharmacy hopes this post is helpful, see http://www.canadasonlinepharmacy.com/ for all your prescription drug needs.

Canada's Online Pharmacy has great low prices on Lipitor!

Lipitor is an atorvastatin.

Atorvastatin is an HMG CoA reductase inhibitor.

Atorvastatin blocks the production of cholesterol in the body.

Atorvastatin is used to help reduce the amounts of LDL, which is the bad cholesterol (a type of fat) in the body, total cholesterol, triglycerides (another type of fat), and apolipoprotein B (a protein that is needed to make cholesterol) in your blood. Atorvastatin can also be used to increase the level of HDL, which is the good cholesterol in your blood. These steps are important in reducing the risk of hardening the arteries, which may lead to heart attack, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease.
Atorvastatin may also be used for other purposes than those listed in this post.

One should always discuss all aspects of health and conditions with their doctor before taking atorvastatin.

Canada's Online Pharmacy requires a prescription from a licenced doctor for most medications online, please see http://www.canadasonlinepharmacy.com/ for complete details for all your prescription needs.
